First Friday Art Show


You are invited to a special showing of original watercolors and Giclee Prints and Cards by Nikki Kinne, Friday, July 6th at the Grange Hall Gallery in North Pole. The Grange Hall is located next to North Pole Middle School.

Nikki Kinne believes that, " Artists put into expression current collective existence. In many ways art is a more accurate measure of a society than written history, journals, or even raw video footage." More of Nikki's work can be viewed on her website:

Artists' reception is 6:30 pm -8:30 pm.

Cruis’n With Santa Extravaganza

The North Pole Lions Foundation is hosting its first annual Cruis'n with Santa Extravaganza on August 24-25, 2007 at the fireworks vendor sites located at Peridot and Richardson Highway. All of the proceeds will go to support the visually impaired or needy who require eye-care.

Alaska International Senior Games

If you're at least half a century young or almost a century old, then you can sign up and participate in Alaska International Senior Games, August 11-20, 2007.

These annual are hosted each year in Fairbanks and North Pole. Athletes can participate in a range of events and activities such as: Archery, Badminton, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Horseshoes, Mountain Biking, Race Walk, Racquetball, 5 K Road race, Softball, Swimming, Table tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Trap Shooting, Volleyball, .22 Caliber Pistol and Rifle, Bridge, Checkers, Chess, Cribbage, Dart Throw, Dominoes, Pinochle, Scrabble, Basketball Toss, Miniature Golf, Nail Driving and more.

Local North Pole resident Marie Burnett will represent Alaska at the 2007 National Senior Games in Louisville, Kentucky this summer competing in horseshoes!

Santa’s Half Marathon - Saturday July 7, 2007

Make sure you are on Santa's list for good boys and girls by participating in Flint Hills 14th Santa Claus Half Marathon. The race begins officially at 9:00 am at the Flint Hills Refinery on Old Richardson Highway and heads out to the Chena Lakes Flood Control Project for a 13.1 mile loop. There is a great barbecue at the end for all participants.
